Originally called "The Gamekeeper", the pub was opened on August 31st 1956, and at the time the late Mr. Jack Richards was the resident Licensee. The pub was
then owned by the Ben Trueman Brewery. While much has changed in the last 50 years, the Poachers still offers honest, down to earth service, an excellent atmosphere, wholesome food and the best in beers wines and spirits.
